Founded in 1970 as the National Materials Handling Centre, the Logistics Education Centre has been providing short courses on logistics topics for over 50 years. Our recent focus has advanced from the frustration we, as senior logistics and supply chain managers, experienced in trying to find training of sufficient quality to develop our teams and organisations.
Who are the courses for?
Our courses are aimed at managers, directors, supervisors and anybody who has an interest in or responsibilities for logistics and supply chain challenges. We cover a wide range of topics, from solutions design through operational excellence to strategy and financial issues.
Our approach
We work with small groups in an informal and team-based style. We expect students to participate in the courses, not just sit and take notes. We incorporate practical exercises to reinforce points and to give students the opportunity to resolve any issues of understanding or interpretation as the course progresses.
What are the benefits?
Our aim is that participants return to their organisations able to identify opportunities, to design solutions to those issues, to plan the implementation of those solutions and to justify their plans and decisions with their peers and managers.
Our tutors work closely with leading universities to build on their extensive and practical industry experience to deliver those aims.
